The Frozen Broiled Eel
The delicate sweet meat with few edible spines is glazed in a succulent sauce. Bake it in the oven. Fold it into an unagi roll. Heck, throw it in the microwave and devour it immediately. There’s no wrong way to enjoy it. Unagi sushi is a mainstay item at most sushi restaurants, but have you tried unagi rice bowl before? This classic Japanese dish is called Unadon (鰻丼) or Unaju (鰻重), or you might have known it as eel rice.

The Broiled Eel
Bring some of the most loved flavors in Japanese summertime cuisine to your home with this easy unagi don grilled eel rice bowl recipe. ‘Unagi’ is the Japanese word for ‘eel’, and this particular one-bowl donburi dish tops servings of white rice with fillets of freshly grilled eel, all seasoned with a homemade unagi sauce. Prepare on the barbecue during a hot summer’s day, or make it on an oven grill in the evening.
What Our Customer Say About Us
"This is very much so resturant grade eel. Precooked and ready to eat, already covered in sauce so you dont really need extra unless you want. The price point will be high for any unagi, seeing that a donburi meal with ell with easily run you 20 some odd bucks for a meal in CA with just a few slices. Might be expensive but might actually be a better deal per weight."

“I’m Japanese and also my wife has lived in Japan for over 15 years and we have enjoyed unagi over there many times, so we know what unagi is. Obviously it is the best if you can eat unagi right from the bincho charcoal grill in Japan, but for unagi like this, this is absolutely worth the price! This unagi has right amount of fat, and meat is tender. The sauce is not too salty nor sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness. This is worth for any special occasion.”
Erika Huff
“This was surprisingly easy and delicious. It felt like an exotic treat. It's really wonderful if you have a sophisticated palate. It makes a delicate and light meal for two people of you serve it with rice and a salad. This is not a meal for someone with a big appetite. It is a delicious treat!”
